Western promise: Plans by architect Edward Cullinan for the £40m regeneration of St Austell town centre in Cornwall were unveiled last week. They feature two squares, including shops, pubs, restaurants and office space, 50 two-bedroom apartments, a car park and cinema. The project is to be developed as a partnership between the South West of England Regional Development Agency, Restormel council and private sector developer David McLean Developments. Demolition work is due to begin in February, subject to planning permission.
