Proposals expected to see pilots run early next year
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors is calling for expressions of interest from professionals and employers for two new planned pathways to RICS membership.
The RICS said there was increased focus on sustainability, data analytics and retrofit solutions and that it was “developing new professional pathways to reflect these developments”.
It said the proposed pathways were for Residential Retrofit Surveying (AssocRICS) and Sustainability Advisory (Chartered Surveyor).
RICS said it was looking for 30 candidates for the . “RICS will prioritise formal applications from those who have submitted expressions of interest, who meet RICS eligibility requirements in terms of experience and qualifications,” it added.
Luay Al-Khatib, director of the Future Innovation Hub at RICS, said: “The new membership pathways we are proposing will extend the reach of surveying, welcoming key professionals responsible for planning and managing the future of our cities and communities.
“We invite expressions of interest from employers and individuals for these pathways. Subject to demand, we expect to run our first pilot assessments in the first half of 2026.
The RICS said it was looking at a Data Analytics and Intelligence pathway and would unveil more details on this plan early next year.
