Property specialist Bellrock buys Summers-Inman for undisclosed sum
Property consultant Bellrock has bought Newcastle-based cost consultant Summers-Inman for an undisclosed sum.
As well as QS work, Summers-Inman carries out project management and building surveying while its clients include Pepsi, McDonalds and Philips.
In its last set of results for the 11 months to March 2024, the firm, which employs around 130 people, improved turnover by 9% to £12m with pre-tax profit jumping 44% to £2.6m.
Founded in 1920, its sectors include healthcare, education, heavy industry and residential. The firm, which is led by managing director David Cronje, has eight offices including London, Leeds and Manchester.
Bellrock said the deal was part of “an ambitious ongoing M&A programme” which last month saw it buy AI firm WiggleDesk for an undisclosed sum.
It added: “[Summers-Inman] will sit within Bellrock’s consulting services. It’ll add considerable regional expertise in locations like the Midlands, the North, Scotland and London. By opening up new sectors and regions, the move strengthens Bellrock’s ambition to become a top 15 building consulting business.”
In it last set of results, Bellrock, which trades as Bellrock Property and FM and was founded in 2003, posted revenue of £149m in 2023, a rise of 19%, although it made a pre-tax loss of £1.9m. It employs around 2,000 people with offices in London, Leicester, Sheffield and Bristol.
