A former Sir Robert McAlpine employee has claimed that he lost his job on the 拢63m Scotland national stadium after he discovered allegedly fraudulent practices and brought them to the attention of the firm.
Quantity surveyor David Telford, 55, who worked as a financial controller, told an employment tribunal that he was overlooked for promotion and publicly humiliated when he disclosed his anxieties about allegedly 鈥渂elow the table discounting鈥�. Telford had accused O鈥橰ourke Scotland of being allowed to pitch 拢1000 less than the lowest bid on a brickwork contract.

He has brought a case for constructive and unfair dismissal after resigning in December 2000. The contractor denies all the allegations. It鈥檚 application to have the case heard in private was rejected. The hearing was adjourned on Tuesday.
