Foster and Partners has been chosen by the Hastings and Bexhill Taskforce to draw up designs for a showcase development at Pelham Square in Hastings, East Sussex. The £50m scheme will have offices and a hotel in a commercial development centred around the large civic space in the square. The architect beat off competition from Lifschutz Davidson and Foreign Office Architects. The Hastings and Bexhill Taskforce is a consortium comprising the South East of England Development Agency, Hastings council, English Partnerships and local councils.
