Social housing contractor Durkan said it was satisfied with its results in the year to 31 January 2008, although pre-tax profit fell 25% from Β£4.6m to Β£3.4m.
The firm blamed planning delays for the fall.
Turnover was down 16% from Β£107m to Β£90m. The highest-paid director took home Β£303,269, down 28% from Β£422,422 in the previous year.
Meanwhile, Essex contractor Lakehouse reported a 65% jump in pre-tax profit from Β£668,000 to Β£1.1m in the year to 30 September 2007. Turnover rose 19% from Β£35.5m to Β£42.2m; its margin went from 1.9% to 2.6%.
The highest paid director took home Β£203,422, down from Β£250,335 the previous year.
The company said it had been successful in securing a number of long-term framework arrangements.
