Contractor's BSF work now totals £1.3bn as joint venture seals contract to deliver 13 new or refurbished schools over four years
A Carillion joint venture has achieved financial close on the £192m Rochdale Ȧ Schools for the Future programme.
The scheme, which will deliver 13 new or refurbished schools over four years, brings the total value of BSF projects won by Carillion to about £1.3bn.
Carillion will carry out the building and refurbishment work for which the capital cost is about £180m and work is due to start this month. Rochdale council and Ȧ Schools for the Future Investments LLP are its joint venture partners.
Carillion also expects to provide facilities management services for four privately financed schools among the 13, generating £12m of revenue over a 25-year period.
Carillion chief executive John McDonough said: “We are delighted to have secured financial close for this major programme. This latest success further consolidates Carillion's position as one of the UK's leading suppliers to the government's £55bn Ȧ Schools for the Future programme.”
