Bovis Lend Lease has done the double for the second time in three months. In August it topped the monthly and annual charts, and to underline its dominance of the UK market, it has repeated the trick in October.

After tumbling out of the top 30 in September's monthly table, Bovis bounced back with a £150m mixed-use scheme in Southwark, south London, for the City of London council.

The scheme was also important for its designer, Allies & Morrison, which rose from third to runners-up spot in the architects' league. Slowly, it is cranking up the pressure on Benoy, which has been sitting pretty in the top spot for the past four months.

In September Benoy held an advantage over its nearest rival of more than £130m – Allies & Morrison has cut this to £35m.
