The item on the early publication of a report by the government on modern methods of construction (8 April, page 24) refers to a 鈥渒itemark鈥� scheme that is to be developed for MMC.

It is difficult to understand how the government could consider 鈥渒itemarking鈥� 鈥� even in quotes. By their very nature, MMC are required by developers and social housing providers to be flexible.

The British Board of Agr茅ment has been awarding certificates for 鈥渂uilding schemes鈥� 鈥� as we have called them 鈥� for more than 20 years. These certificates show how building systems comply with relevant 微密圈 Regulations and give information on their performance in relevant key areas, such as insulation and structural stability 鈥� everything a designer needs to know.
