Balfour Beatty, Willmott Dixon and ISG also enjoy strong months for contract wins
Kier grabbed top spot in both monthly contractor tables for February, after securing nearly 60 contracts worth over 拢200m.
The firm edged Balfour Beatty into second place in the table including civils, with its rival picking up 拢177m of work over the month.
In the table excluding civils it was Willmott Dixon that took second place, with 11 wins valued at 拢158m. The firm was boosted by a 拢148m repairs and maintenance deal for Birmingham council. The haul was enough to put Willmott Dixon third in the table including civils.
ISG and Wates made the top five in both tables with 拢104m and 拢100m contract hauls respectively.
ISG - which agreed to be taken over by US investor Cathexis last month - picked up major contracts including a 拢59m job to build and fit out the BBC鈥檚 new Wales headquarters in Cardiff.
Wates picked up 11 contracts, two of which were for student accommodation specialist Select Property. The contracts are for builds in Newcastle and York, worth 拢22m and 拢47m respectively.
On the table including civils, Mulalley & Company has secured sixth spot, with three contract wins worth 拢64m. These include a 拢50m job to construct 205 flats in Deptford, South-east London, for Family Mosaic.
Robertson Group, Winvic Group, Graham Construction and Carillion round out the top 10 table including civils. Graham picked up two major contacts in Scotland, a 拢35m contract to build a health and social care centre in Muirhouse for the Lothian Health Board and a 拢15m contract for student accommodation in Glasgow.
Carillion and McLaren round out the table excluding civils, with 拢44m and 拢42m contract hauls respectively.
